La Scala Opera House is one of the most famous in the world. Its history spans over two centuries, and during this time, dozens of premieres have taken place on its stage, and stars of world music culture and renowned conductors have performed here.

In 2004, the theater underwent a large-scale reconstruction, which turned La Scala into a modern venue where productions using digital technology and other innovative techniques can take place.

One of the theater's features is a monthly change of playbill. La Scala's repertoire is diverse, so each month a new playbill is prepared.

The most anticipated events

The audience will be presented with P. Tchaikovsky's opera "Eugene Onegin". The main roles will be performed by Aida Garifullina and Alexei Markov.

Here, the audience will also see three one-act ballets. The first, to the music of Thom Yorke and choreography by Philip Kratz, is called "Solitude Sometimes". The second is "Annunciation" to the music of Antonio Vivaldi and choreography by Angelin Preljocaj. The evening will end with "Carmen" by Rodion Shchedrin. Choreographer - Patrick de Bana.

The theater also invites you to a piano evening. Mitsuko Uchida, a world-famous British pianist, will be at the instrument. She will perform works by Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert.

Opera Playbill

Giacomo Puccini's opera "Tosca" is one of the most famous operas in the world, its premiere took place at La Scala in 1900. It is still included in the theater's repertoire. The main parts will be performed by Chiara Izotton, Francesco Meli and Luca Salsi.

A concert of the La Scala Philharmonic Theatre will also take place here, with Riccardo Chailly, one of the world's top conductors, at the conductor's stand. The evening's program will include Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 9.

"Opera seria" is a special genre of Neapolitan opera, in which vocalists compete in the skill of performing parts.
